WMBR bumper stickers
i did some work this evening on the WMBR bumper stickers. this is based on the design that ben and i did for the fall program guide. these are definitely not the final versions, just a work in progress.

Demos are finally over.
this week was probably one of the more productive, and stressful weeks. i got quite a lot done, but i am pretty tired from it.
i just finished a two day project which ended up being a lot of fun, called 'newsofthemoment' -- its instant booklet printing from online syndicated sources. think about taking a tiny booklet of your favorite news / blog sites with you on the train. they loook nice and are easy to make.
i will post pictures soon. (when i am not so tied and behind schedule.)
also last week i finished a funny lamp movie. http://noah.cx/lightreading.mov i think is the url. pretty funny.
and lots of pictures remain to be put online of previous weekends.
oh, and the red sox beat the yankies. what a crazy week!

New software this week.
this week i have started a few new demo applications.
news now is a baby step i made last night towards a larger demo about custom magazines, which should be done in two days. not sure where it is going yet.
draw this is something i threw together to highlight the new treehouse client-side architecture. obviously has a long way to go until its done.

research update
this week i have been writing code for the THS Application core. the documentation for the core is at http://noah.cx/research/drawApp.html. writing code seems so much easier than the planning part or the communicating part. it feels natural, and useful.
i am starting to help think about the file storage for SMPL. aside from replacing the mysql back-end with Postgresql (which seems like a good thing to do at some point) we had talked about completely re-architecting the file storage technique. carlos had a radical idea about just storing 'properties' for meta-data and leaving them to be defined by the application. Wow! super scary and loose, but it i kind of like it.
hiroshi's class is pretty intense. its been taking up lots of my time. i have been designing a system for adding smarts to ordinary books, by using ISBN numbers and online full text book catalogues. mostly i have been doing a lot of video editing and sketching.
i have been working with ben and angelyn laying out the newest version of the WMBR program guide. also team HVAC-REVAMP has been preparing materials for the bubble project grant.
i have been thinking mostly about children, bread, and sweaters.
i am very impressed with my new canon sd10 camera. i bought it because my camera recently died, and i remember peter cho had this camera, and it was super hot looking. it seems like a good example of the very powerful and very simple device. my friend paul was taking pictures with it this weekend, and he is 2.5 years old.

latest THApplication sketch
had a good meeting with maku about the how to deligate mouse handling for treehouse studio applications. we came up with the idea that a mouse controller class would maintain stateful information about the mouse, and rebroadcast mouse events to all the listenting toosl. i updated added a new diagram to the design page.
