rdy pack: The main goal of the rdy pack is to make sure that the owner has the days equipment packed. It uses an rfid system, and a cheap 5x7 led matrix. As an urban backpacker, I try to keep whatever extra clothes I might need in my backpack. But I am constantly packing and unpacking based upon factors such as the weather. Because of this repetative backpack optimization, I often leave things behind too. Its a bummer. A backpack equipt with an rfid reader, and bluetooth connectivity could make my life much easier, and more fault tolerant. For example: If my backpack knows its going to rain, it can also check to make sure I have an umberalla packed. If its might get cold later, I should have a hat packed. If I have class, my eyeglasses should be in the bag. If I ever loose anything, I have a record of when I last removed the object from my backpack. If there are cooperating bluetooth networks around, I might also know where I left the object.
